Consider Him 7

If you have been alive very long at all you have been betrayed by someone.  Sadly, it might be someone very close to you.  Maybe it was a spouse or former spouse.  Betrayal is hard to get over sometimes.  Let me ask this, “Who are we to think we are above this?”.

Today let’s take some time and “Consider Him in His Contradiction”.  The people loved Jesus.  They flocked to Him for bread.  They especially loved the water turned into wine.  They would have set Him up as King immediately in what we call His Triumphal Entry.(Matthew 21:1-11).  These people were ready for Him to rule over them.

Then something changed.  The people who sought to set Jesus up as King suddenly moved against Him.  When given the opportunity they said in John 19:15, “But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.”

You talk about a contradiction.  These people wanted Jesus to rush in and take over and deliver them from Roman rule.  They did not understand that His kingdom was not of this world.  Thus they became disillusioned and turned on Him.  Jesus endured contradiction.

Today, you and I have to make a choice.  We have to choose if we will have Jesus to rule over us or if we will continue to bow to a pagan king.  The choice is yours to make.

So, how are you doing?

Hebrews 12:3, “For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”
