Today’s post will not be popular.  Well, I am not running for the number one spot in a popularity contest so here it goes.

As I was reading this morning, I read the following in Proverbs 4:24, “Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.”  After I finished reading this verse of Scripture I immediately thought about some of my friends on that popular social media website facebook.

My thought was that people put stuff on that site that they would never say in public.  Why?  They can hide behind their computer.  I am brokenhearted almost on a daily basis because someone that I know who says they are a Christian will post something that has a curse word in it or refers to alcohol.  Even worse, sometimes the pictures and things people post come from pages that have ungodly titles or names.  We should be different than those who do not know Christ as their Saviour.  For some reason we don’t thing we should have to do this.

Why do we think this is okay?  Is it because we hide behind our computers?  I think it is simply a lapse in character.  We let down our guard and do not look closely at what we put out on social media.  This does not please God at all!  The “froward” mouth is a perverse mouth.  This is a mouth that lets flow from it’s lips things that should not be said.  Now, before you delete me or send me hate mail, take a long look at yourself and see if what I have said is true.  If it is true, then your problem is with God and not me.
