God’s Mercy and Compassion

It is sad to watch our nation go from drifting away from God to now running away from God.  You see on television that the city of Detroit is putting up a statute of satan.  Planned Parenthood is selling human body parts taken from aborted children.  It is horrible!  Yet, America still exists.  This is a miracle!  God’s judgement is sure to come crashing down upon America.

People laugh and even scoff at the idea.  People live like there is no God.  There is coming a day in the not so distant future that they will scoff no longer.  It is by the mercy of God that we have not been destroyed as of yet.  Look at what king Solomon said in Lamentations 3:22-23, “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

Rest assured that one day God will judge America for her sins.  I am sorry that I can be named in the list of those who have sinned against Holy God; but, I am.  Now, all we can do is beg God for forgiveness and turn away from our sin and seek Him.

Come Up 2

As I was thinking about this experience today I thought about Aaron, Nadab and Abihu.  It is not too long that we find Aaron falling.  In Exodus 32 we find the chapter opening with Aaron commanding the men to take the earrings of their wives, sons and daughters and to bring them to him.  He takes this gold and forms a golden calf and tells the children of Israel that this is now their god.  What?

What happened to Exodus 24:1-2, “And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.  And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.”?  Aaron was one of the chosen to approach the LORD.  Moses was asked to come into His presence; but, Aaron was called up to a certain point.

It is no guarantee that we will always be obedient.  We have a sin nature and sometimes we allow it to reign in our lives.  Aaron experienced a huge failure.  It not only cost him; but, it cost the children of Israel too.

When Moses came back down the mountain and found the deplorable, spiritual condition of the people he threw the ten commandments down in anger and broke them.  Then in judgement the calf was ground up and the ashes mingled and the Israelites made to drink the mixture.  God dealt harshly with His people after they failed in a major way.

Now, you and I have failed deeply too.  Yet, if we know Christ as our Saviour He has taken our judgement.  God dealt harshly with His Son on our behalf.  He has take our judgement for us.  In order to be exonerated we must put our faith and trust in Christ and receive Him as our Saviour.

If you need to trust Christ as your Saviour please contact me and let me show you how you can do just that.

Two For The Show

We live in a day that people want to see what is going on.  What I mean is if there is an accident then people will drive at a snail’s pace. not for safety; but, so they can see what is going on at the scene.

I was thinking about our thought for today and I was reminded of the two you athletes taking a “selfie” with a cell phone.  Then they find that they have been photo bombed by none other than the Queen of England.  I laughed and laughed when I saw that.

Even all the way back in the beginning of the New Testament there were people that were glory seekers.  Look at Acts 5:1-2, “But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.”  These two conspired together to make it appear that they had given the entire amount of money they received for their property that had been sold.  It was their money to begin with and they have the right to give whatever they want above the tithe.

Their problem was rooted in their pride.  They wanted to be seen of men.  They wanted to appear to be something they were not.  The end result was death for both of them.  What a tragedyl

You Have Been Told

As I was reading I noticed something.  I was reading through the book of Jeremiah and I began to notice how God was dealing with Israel and Judah.  Now, I understand that these are God’s chosen people; but, they have forsaken Him and so the gospel has come to the gentiles.  You and I now have the opportunity to be saved because of Israel and Judah have rejected God’s Son.

So, we can look at how God deals with Israel and Judah and see how He will deal with nations of today.  Take of your rose colored glasses and take a look at America.  The Sodomites are running rampant and seeking to destroy Christians and the Church.  Murder is rampant and we call it a woman’s choice.  The Church herself has left her first love, Christ.

When this happened to Israel and Judah there was something soon coming.  That is God’s Judgement.  Yes, God judges His people who live in disobedience.  Look at Jeremiah 25:7, “Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.”  So based upon how God has dealt with His children in the past why would we expect anything else or less today?  We thing we are too good for that or we think we are exempt.  I have news for you.  Judgement is coming soon.  Return to God quickly!

Convienance

Yesterday Governor Mike Pence signed a bill that will make the requirements for abortions by medication the same as the requirements for abortions by medical procedure.  This is an improvement; but, it is not where we need to be.

Here in our nation life has become expendable.  If you are too old, euthanasia.  If you are too young, abortion.  If you are in the middle; well, there are options.  This is tragic.  We know that this push to destroy life is from the Devil, himself.  Our nation is being sold a bill of goods and we are swallowing it hook, line and sinker.

I am afraid that one day soon God will draw the line and His righteous judgement will fall on this nation in a large way.  I personally believe that America will cease to exist.  Look at Leviticus 20:3, “And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.”  Molech was a statue with hands and arms outstretch and it was heated to high temperatures and then innocent children were laid in his arms and sacrificed.  God help us!
