Commitment

Here a while back I wanted to get out of an important commitment.  I sat and I thought of every possible excuse how to shake the responsibility.  It did not work.

I am amazed at the level of commitment today that is seen in people.  I include myself in this.  It concerns me and makes me sick all at the same time.  One place we can see this is in the marriage relationship.  Marriages today are nothing to people.  If someone makes it to twenty years of marriage today they seem like a star or something.  People ask, “How did you do that?”  One word, commitment.

Look at Psalm 37:5, “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”  The word “Commit means roll thy way upon.  In other words we take our way or will and roll it over upon God and let His will and way become our will and way.  When we do this we can become people of character.  Don’t be a drop out when it comes to the Christian life.  God wants to use you mightily; but, you have to be available.

So, how are you doing?
