Press On

As I look at my nation I am brokenhearted, I am angry and a whole host of other emotions.  We are seeing our beloved country ripped apart by those who hate her and hate what she stands for.  If you don’t like it here then leave!

The Supreme Court slapped the entire nation in the face by defying the will of the people in handing down their rogue decision on sodomite marriages, Now Christians are asking themselves what should they do.

I think we need to follow the example of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:14, ” I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ”  We must keep loving people and hating their sin.  In doing this we do not hate them and they need to realize that truth.

We are not called to sit, soak and sour.  We must be actively sharing the gospel with others and we need to support those who are going to other countries to do the same.  They are going in our place and we need to pray for them and support them.

So, how are you doing?

Marching

For the past few days we have been talking about warfare.  There was one thing about God’s plan for His people at Jericho that was different.  Look at Joshua 6:4, “And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.”  How often in battle do you send out the trumpeters first?  Normally, you do not.  Yet, God had a plan to do things His way.

I am sure that this seemed strange to Israel and Joshua.  The thing is that they trusted the LORD and He gave them a great deliverance.  The walls fell down flat on themselves.  Then the Israelites could simply walk in to the city and fight and take the spoil.  What a plan.

God had a plan and it was probably different than what Joshua had in mind.  The thing is that Joshua and the children of Israel trusted God no matter and He secured a great victory for them.

We have to be careful not to march on ahead of God and get into deep trouble.  We must follow God no matter.

The Day After

It has been three (3) days since we celebrated Resurrection Day.  I hope you sent your day celebrating what Jesus did for you.  I know that I enjoyed time with my family and a much needed nap.

I wonder how many of you, my readers, made decisions for Jesus Christ on Sunday?  If you did make a decision to trust Christ as your Saviour that is awesome.  Maybe you made a decision to follow Jesus more closely.  You could have decided to pray more or spend more time reading your Bible.  All of these are fantastic decisions.

Normally, it is the day after that the reality sets in of the decision(s) made the day before.  Don’t look back and most certainly don’t go back.  As my dear cousin Dale A. Byers would say, “Keep going for the LORD.”

If we are going to experience revival in this nation, state, county, town, home then we need to keep faithful to the decisions that we have made.  Look at Luke 7:11, “And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.”  That first part of the verse is our admonition today.  “And it came to pass the day after, that he went…”  Now that you are on course keep going.
