Love For People 5

When my wife and I first met she did not even like me for a long time.  Once I won her over it moved like water running down a mountain.  She will tell you that everywhere she went I showed up.  Looking back now it is funny truthfully.

One thing that really got her was when I met her Dad we hit it off like we had been friends for years.  She told me that she knew that she was doomed when this happened.  Eventually, I wore her down and we had a conversation on the phone for many hours one night and that changed it all.

The love between a husband and wife should be a strong bond.  The love of a Pastor for his people should be a strong bond and the love of the people for their Pastor should be strong.  Our love for our Heavenly Father should be the strongest.  This keeps things in perspective.  How well do we love other people?  If we know of some Christian who is walking a path contrary to the Word of God do we go to them?

Moses had such a love for God and for God’s people that he often stood in the gap for the people to God.  He also stood  before the people as God’s representative.  Moses developed a deep love for “his people” the children of Israel.  Look at Deuteronomy 9:25, “Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.”  He love these people so much that he fasted for forty days and nights.  Wow!  That is love.

So, how are you doing?
