Pray For One Hour 2

Matthew 26:40-41, “And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?  Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

II. Waiting – Silent soul surrender.  Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God:  I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

In this verse the word “still” means to slacken (Strong’s Concordance).  The word “know” means to ascertain by seeing (Strong’s Concordance).  We are all strung so tight today.  We live in a fast paced world.  There are times in life that we need to come away and get apart before we fall apart.  During these times we need to slacken the ropes and let God be in control.  We need to go to Him and wait silently before Him.  Then He can speak to us.  We can hear Him.

Life gets so loud that we cannot hear God anymore.  The sad reality is that we do not want to hear from Him anymore.  We are afraid that He will call us to the deepest, darkest Africa or some place we do not want to go.

We need to get alone with God and get away from the noise of life and spend quiet time before Him just listening.

So, how are you doing?
