Taking a quick inventory of my blog, I noticed that I did not explain myself a couple days ago. So, here we go.
In talking with the Missionary from Australia I learned something. I learned he used to be a Ringer and would often have to muster up the paddock. This is what caused me to think that the Preacher said something about mustard on a paddy. I was deeply confused.
When I shared my inability to hear and understand the Missionary filled in the blanks for me. A Ringer is a cowboy. The paddock is the pasture land that the animals graze on. To muster up is to go all the way to the back and sides of this property and make sure that there are no “deserters” in the evening roundup (that is my interpretation).
I have to say that it does remind me of the Scripture passage that the Preacher used this week. Look at Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
So, how are you doing?
