Desire

Today is another day given to us by our Creator.  What are you going to do with it?  What will I do with it?  I will stand before the people of our Church and attempt to proclaim the gospel to the best of my ability.  I will seek to do this in the power of the Holy Spirit of the Living God.  My own efforts are futile at best.

As I think about desire, I wonder what kind of desire that we; God’s people, have for Him, His Word and His house.  Now might be a good time to take a little inventory and see what our attitude toward the house of God is really.  We say we love “our Church”; but, when it is time for you and I to be counted on are we even present and accounted for?

Look at Proverbs 18:1, “Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. ”  it is “desire” that causes us to set ourselves aside for what matters to us.  The word “desire” here means a longing, a delight.  I hope and pray that God will fill me with an unquenchable longing and delight for His house, His Word and His presence.

So, how are you doing?
