The Cover Up 2

As I was reading over yesterday’s post on “The Cover Up” something came back to my memory from my daily Bible reading from the recent past.  I was thinking about Moses.  We all know how God used him to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt.  What an awesome task he was called upon to do.

I believe he was so zealous about this that it led him to commit murder.  Look with me at Exodus 2:12-14, “And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.   And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?   And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.”

Murder is serious.  Notice that Moses “looked this way and that way,”.  He knew what he was doing.  He was making sure that nobody saw him.  He forgot one thing.  God saw him.

So many times you and I go about life and we try to live like God does not see us.  Maybe we try to justify what we do by saying that God cannot see us.  Maybe we don’t believe that He cares enough about us to be looking into what we are doing.

If we are His child then He cares and He looks into our lives.  He is looking for us to bring Him glory and honor.  He is looking for us to be like Jesus no matter what the situation.  That is the key.  The Father wants us to be like the Son.  The question is do we care enough that we try to be like Jesus?  Maybe we are just living to fulfill our own lusts.  God help us!

So, how are you doing?
