Love You Through It

Yesterday I was reading a post on social media by a Missionary friend of mine that shared of unrest in Pakistan.  It seems that people are moving toward their capital city in protest against their government.  All the while here in the United States, Ferguson, MO there are riots going on over the alleged shooting death of an unarmed black male.  Because of this the streets of Ferguson have been filled with rioters and looters for days.  The National Guard is there now trying to restore peace.

A news story tells of a young lady that put together a group via social media to go to Ferguson to try to help calm the people.  I applaud her effort as many of us; myself included, sit idle and watch the news videos.  We seem to be like the religious crowd of the parable of the Good Samaritan in the Word of God.

Here was a man that made my love for man look like hatred.  Really.  This man stopped and ministered to a man that was his sworn enemy.  He even made provision for his care after he had left.

You see, he was expressing to this man what can be summed up in the Word of God found in John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  This has been on my heart lately as I heard a song by the Isaac’s titled, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It”.

Will you love and care enough about someone to love them through whatever they are going through? I hope you will.

So, how are you doing?
