Reproved

When I was a little boy the baseball diamond across the street from our house flooded.  Mom told me in no uncertain terms not to go over there and get in the muddy water.  Within five minutes or so I was surfing on an old piece of a 2X6 board.

I suddenly heard my mother’s voice calling my whole name.  At that moment  I did not love my mother’s appearing.  I knew it was going to be painful for me.  It was.  With each swat the water sprayed like an open fire hydrant.  I deserved it, no doubt.

During the moments from the time I heard my mother’s voice until she made contact with me was only a few brief moments I am sure.  Look at Habakkuk 2:1, “I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.”  Nobody likes to be reproved; but, it is necessary.  If we are heading down the wrong road we need to be corrected.  I hope that you are traveling the right road.

So, how are you doing?
