The Blessing Of The LORD

Last night I had the pleasure of going to the mission to preach.  I had a message that I did not feel was very good and I was not looking forward to leading the congregational music without my wife and piano player.  I resigned myself to man up and go on.  I received a text from a dear friend that he and his friend would be coming and they would sing.  Glory to God!  When they started singing, “I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene…” I could not hold back the tears.   Their harmony was so sweet and I love that song too.  The men were filled up and it was obvious in the song service.

My message (which will show up here in some form in the near future) was about the storm and Peter walking on the water in Matthew 14:22-33.  As I was preaching I glanced further up the page in the Scriptures and I saw the account of Jesus feeding the five thousand.

The following words just came out of my mouth (under inspiration of the Holy Spirit), “What God breaks He multiplies to feed the multitudes.”  Taken from Matthew 14:19, “And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.”  It was brought to my attention and I had no recollection saying this and it was not in my notes.

These men are broken, battered and in some cases beaten.  They needed encouragement like this.  How about you friend?  Do you feel broken, beaten or battered?  We all do from time to time.  Just remember that our Father is preparing you to feed the multitudes.

So, how are you doing?
