Then Would Not I Tell Thee?

As we are in the Easter season I am reminded of the importance of sharing with others about the true meaning of Easter.  The other day I saw a picture on facebook that spoofed a breakfast cereal commercial from back when I was a child.  It showed the artist’s rendition of an easter bunny and a rendition of what the artist thought Jesus would look like.  The caption said, “Silly rabbit, Easter is for Jesus.”  I really liked it.

The true message of Easter is not some bunny carrying eggs in a basket.  The true meaning of Easter is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  I was reading earlier today a statistic that said only 2% of people in the United States are born again.  This is sad.  To know that 98% of the people in the United States would spend eternity in hell if they died today.

My question to myself and to you, my readers is this, “What are we doing about it?”  We no longer have a passion for souls.  The truth of the Gospel no longer effects us.  We have cast aside the Word of God that commands us to go and to tell others.

As I was reading earlier I thought about the truth in I Samuel 20:9, “And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee?”  The devil, who is the world’s father has evil determined against them.  What are we going to do about it?  Let’s get back to our Father’s business and tell the world that Jesus died for them.

So, how are you doing?
