“… so loved…” – The Greatest Emotion

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Our world today is as mixed up as a termite in a yoyo.  We have mistaken “love” for lust.  Males will tell females, “Yes, I love you.”  Then when they get what they want, they drop the poor girl like a hot potato.  Some think that love is the butterfly feeling you get in your gut when you are in the presence of someone you are fond of.

The Word of God declares in John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  You see, real love is self-sacrificing.  Love gives.  If you love that person you will do for them as the Scripture commands you to do.  Love is not the physical union behind closed doors.  It is vastly more than that.  God loved you and I so much that He sent Jesus to die in my place and in your place.  That is love!  Jesus has a question for you in John 21:15, “So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.”

So, how are you doing?
